RESPONSIBLE OWNERSHIP

Before buying a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, it is suggested that you give careful consideration to the following:

Is there someone at home most of the time to look after him/her? A quick visit at lunch is not enough

Have you sufficient space to own a Stafford? Remember, all dogs need adequate space to live and exercise

Does your lease allow you to keep a dog?

Are you prepared to exercise your Stafford sufficiently?

Is there an open space near you where you are allowed to exercise dogs?

Can you afford vet's fees if your Stafford falls ill?

Is a Stafford suitable for your lifestyle and surroundings? Some breeds of dogs make better pets than others

Can you afford to feed your Stafford properly?

Can you control your Stafford's barking so that he/she doesn't become a nuisance to neighbours?

Are you prepared for some damage in the house from a puppy until it has learnt to be clean and behave?

Have you the time to brush down your Stafford regularly?

Are you prepared to take time – and money – to train your Stafford to ensure he/she is a pleasure to live with?

Do you realise that your beloved Stafford, like people, grow old and may need special care & medication?

Are you prepared to love and care for the dog for all of its life, and not just when it's a cuddly puppy?

If you can answer “YES” to all of the questions above – Congratulations !!!
There is a Stafford out there waiting for you...
